The Six Pillars of RevOps

What RevOps is, what it does, where it operates, how it operates, and why it exists

The Six Pillars framework is the canonical structural composition of RevOps as an integrative device. It emerged inductively from a multivocal systematic literature review and was validated against thirteen senior practitioner interviews. The pillars together specify the function comprehensively across structural, behavioural, and outcome dimensions.

Components

Structure
Organisational form: function, department, team, or task force. Where RevOps sits in the hierarchy and how it is staffed.
Nature of Work
Dual character of RevOps as both strategic and operational, matching the time-orientation requirement of an effective integrative device.
Drivers
Three integration mechanisms—alignment (cognitive), integration (operational), collaboration (human).
Audience
Core (sales, marketing, customer success) plus adjacent GTM functions (enablement, partnerships, BD, CX, finance).
Resources
Four asset classes—data and insights, systems, processes, enablement—mobilised to produce drivers.
Outcomes
Four result categories—revenue, profitability, productivity, customer experience—against which RevOps is held accountable.

Application

Use the framework as a deployment checklist when designing a new RevOps capability, as a diagnostic when troubleshooting an underperforming implementation, or as a maturity assessment to identify which pillars are strongest and weakest in a current organisation.
