The RevOps Maturity Model

Three stages of RevOps capability progression

The RevOps Maturity Model is a diagnostic for where a RevOps implementation sits in its development. It supports benchmarking against peers, identifies the next stage of progression, and explains the persistent gap between RevOps adoption rates and RevOps impact—approximately 82% of implementations remain below the differentiation stage.

Components

Stage 1: Getting Started
Ad-hoc operations, fragmented data, reactive request-driven support. RevOps is a delivery function with limited strategic surface area.
Stage 2: Standardisation
Documented processes, centralised data, predictable cadences. RevOps is a reliable operating system but not yet a competitive differentiator.
Stage 3: Differentiation
RevOps becomes a strategic capability creating measurable competitive advantage through superior orchestration of the revenue motion.

Application

Use the model to assess current implementation maturity, identify the gating capabilities for progression to the next stage, and benchmark against peer organisations. Each stage requires different team composition, governance, and executive sponsorship.
