The Three Deployment Models capture how organisations actually deploy RevOps in practice. Each model implies different mandates, authority, and outcomes. Choice of model should be a deliberate strategic decision aligned with organisational maturity, leadership intent, and the problem RevOps is being asked to solve.
Components
Service Provider
Responsive delivery function. Request-driven mandate. High responsiveness, limited strategic influence. Common starting model.
Strategic Partner
Peer to functional leadership. Co-owns revenue strategy and operating cadence. Balanced authority and influence. Associated with mature, high-impact implementations.
Enforcer
Process authority and governance rights. High control, with risk of friction. Common in turnarounds and post-merger integrations.
Application
Use the framework to make a deliberate deployment choice when launching RevOps, to evolve from one model to another as maturity increases, and to set executive expectations about the authority and influence the function will have.
